Lifesharing is a unique opportunity for an individual to live within a home of a registered PMH Lifesharing Provider and become part of a family, while receiving tailored supports.
The PMH Lifesharing Provider assists with personal hygiene, training in daily living skills, assistance with educational needs, socialization, recreation, meal planning and preparation, medication administration, transportation to community outings, work, and training programs, and/or other activities, as needed. PMH Management provides ongoing support and training to PMH Lifesharing Providers to maintain the highest level of care.
PMH is blessed with dedicated and trained Lifesharing Providers in licensed homes that open their homes and embrace the individual as part of their family, as well as the opportunity for relatives and legal guardians to become Lifesharing Providers with PMH at unlicensed homes.
Benefits of Licensed Lifesharing
For the individual, they become a contributing member of a family, receive additional individualized attention, and develop trusting and caring relationships.
For the provider, Lifesharing through Family Living offers 
companionship and an opportunity to help another person. PMH Lifesharing Providers receive monthly payments for services and room/ board allowances. To become a PMH Lifesharing Provider, you must be willing to open your home and your heart. The individual will become a part of your family, as well as the community in which you live.
Licensed Lifesharing Matching Process
PMH takes pride in carefully matching the needs and preferences of the individual with those of the PMH Lifesharing Provider household. Common interests, hobbies, and beliefs are considered by all parties. Both the individual and the provider must feel comfortable and be able to form a bond of trust.
Licensed Lifesharing Provider Expectations
A PMH Lifesharing Provider agrees to:
- Complete all trainings, follow all rules and regulations of PMH’s Lifesharing Program, as well as the rules and regulations of the individual’s county and Pennsylvania’s Office of Developmental Programs.
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and healthy environment in which the individual has choices.
- Assist the individual with their daily living.
- Be a part of the individual’s team, inclusive of their biological family, their Supports Coordinator, their PMH Program Specialist, and their Community Participation Supports Program, if applicable.
Family Member Lifesharing Providers
Eligible relatives, including parents, siblings, aunts/uncles, and grandparents, can additionally become Lifesharing Providers with PMH! This program is very similar to licensed Lifesharing through Family Living. For family members, the home would be unlicensed.
