The Pirates CARE-a-van is a community outreach tour where players and coaches visit with the communities in and around Pittsburgh to promote the importance of giving back to those who support them.
The Pirates community team reached out to PMHF in December to offer the opportunity of a CARE-A-Van “stop” to visit with children we are privileged to serve. As a result, 16 children from PMH’s Children’s Residential Program visited the Greensburg location of Painting with a Twist to participate in a baseball-themed paint party with various Pirates players, prospects, coaches, and the Pirate Parrot. Each of the children received a Pirates Charities backpack filled with Pirates goodies. The children were also be treated to a catered dinner, compliments of Chick-Fil-A.
